There are Heathens in Paradise

During our Thanksgiving Eve meal time conversation last Wednesday, I heard the word Heathen 💚. I had not heard this word for quite sometime and I was a bit shock/surprise to hear it from a Fellow THD resident specially during our meal times conversations.  So I did some google search and here are a few other words or the synonyms for Heathen.

What is another word for heathen?

ðŸ’šAt Our Meal time Conversation - Thanksgiving-Eve Dinner Last Wednesday

Resident #1: So are you celebrating Thanksgiving day tomorrow by going to Church?

Me: I am attending Thanksgiving mass on Television

Resident #2: I have no church affiliation, because I am a Heathen.

Resident # 3: I am also a Heathen.  This should end our conversations about church services.

Me: Amen, Amen, Amen! It is now confirm that at least there are two heathens in THD.  I have a feeling there are more.

Lastly, Thanksgiving Day, I had the most gastronomically satisfying lunch of Pork Sinigang ( 2024 Best Tasting Soup in the World by Taste Atlas)💚,  Pork Short Ribs with Black Bean Sauce and Steamed white rice.

The Pork Sinigang I ordered from the House of Casey( Filipino Home- cooked Meal Delivery) and the Pork Ribs from East Ocean Seafood Restaurant, Ignacio Valley Rd, Walnut Creek, CA.  The savory sour taste of the sinigang blended well with the mild spicy pork ribs with black bean sauce,  Yummy, Yummy, indeed!

I believe the word heathen has lost some its highly negative connotations. Instead, "heathen" is now another word for expressing feelings of separation from a commitment to faith in God. In a way, we all share some of that "heatheness." There is a universal element of confusion on the definition and clarity as to what is God. What so many of us have is a commitment to a particular tradition, with all of those traditions seeking the most attractive individual and collective behaviors. Phil Paris
